An NSDI Advisory Committee
An Advisory Committee with global geospatial experts from both the public and private sector will provide expert guidance and strategic direction to the NSDI modernization program by:
- Strategic Guidance: Offering expert advice on the strategic direction of the NSDI Modernization Program.
- Collaboration: Facilitateingcollaboration among geospatial organizations.
- Formulating guiding principles: Establishing ethical and operational principles for data sharing, access, and use within the NSDI, considering issues such as data sovereignty, privacy, and intellectual property rights.
- Identifying key priorities and challenges: Analyzing global trends and needs to identify priority areas for NSDI development, including data themes, technology gaps, and capacity building needs.
- Recommending policies and strategies: Proposing policies and strategies for promoting data interoperability, capacity building, and efficient data sharing
- Monitoring and evaluation: Providing guidance on monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the NSDI program and recommending adjustments as needed.
